City Playground Upgrade – $50,000

Byerly-Park

The Byerly Foundation has provided two grants for Garrison’s Place at Byerly Park. These grants helped the City of Hartsville create the region’s first handicapable playground for children who were not able to use the regular playground equipment. In 2014 The Foundation provided $50,000 that further improved this playground and added some other play structures at another park in town.

The new playground equipment included a wheelchair platform swing, adaptive swings, and an adaptive zip line all suited for children with disabilities. Those grants helped families and children feel more included as citizens of Hartsville.
