The Byerly Foundation was a strong supporter of the Hartsville’s bid for the 2016 All-America City designation. The Hartsville team won that award earlier in July in competition in Denver at the National Civic League conference. The win is the second for our city; the first coming 20 years ago in 1996.
Hannah Williams has been interning at The Byerly Foundation for a little more than six months now and her last major project was coordinating a video that would show some of the Hartsville youth members of the All-America City team. Several of them were able to make the video session with Seth Johnson, a professional videographer and story creator. The result of that project can be seen in this video link:
The Foundation appreciates the willingness of several people who took photos for allowing us to use them in the video. We also appreciate being able to use the Civic League’s video footage from the Hartsville presentation.
This video helps us see clearly that it takes our entire community to build community — an important lesson as we continue to build in Hartsville, in South Carolina and in the United States.
